NATSIAACC has provided a submission to the Department of Health, Disability and Aged Care on the development of an Allied Health Needs Assessment Tool for Aged Care.

Our submission calls for a culturally safe, trauma-aware, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led approach that recognises the holistic health and wellbeing needs of our Elders and Older People. We recommend embedding Aboriginal-specific indicators, culturally validated tools like Good Spirit Good Life, and the inclusion of Traditional Healers, Social and Emotional Wellbeing Practitioners, and Aboriginal-led services to ensure meaningful, respectful, and effective assessment and care.
