The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ageing and Aged Care Council (NATSIAACC) congratulates The Hon. Sussan Ley, MP on her appointment as Leader of the Opposition.
Ms. Ley’s appointment presents a valuable opportunity to strengthen national leadership on issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders and Older People. NATSIAACC acknowledges Ms Ley’s experience across key portfolios and hopes to work together to ensure that the needs and voices of older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are recognised and prioritised in the Coalition’s policy approach.
NATSIAACC looks forward to working constructively with the Liberal-National Coalition to ensure the voices, rights, and wellbeing of Elders and Older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People are represented in national policy. We are particularly committed to collaborating on aged care reform, Closing the Gap targets, and improving culturally safe and accessible services across Australia.
