Council of the Ageing (COTA) Australia as the peak body representing older Australians, delivers on its overall purpose of promoting the rights, interests and good futures of Australians as we age . COTA listens and responds to the concerns of older people through a range of channels face to face and online. COTA’s digital and print communications provide information on and raise awareness of policy changes and government activity as they impact on older people. COTA have developed resources to support older people in managing their affairs, maintain independence and exercise choice and control over the services they receive. Through continuous advocacy informed by COTA’s engagement with older people, COTA tackle systemic and institution inequity across a range of areas including aged care, retirement incomes, housing, employment, health and digital access. COTA’s advocacy aims to ensure the voices of all older people are heard in government and civil society, including those who are more vulnerable and marginalised.
