First Peoples’ Health and Wellbeing
First Peoples’ Health and Wellbeing is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation that offers affordable primary healthcare services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People and their families in urban Melbourne.
First Peoples’ Health and Wellbeing was previously known as Access Services for Koories which was set up to improve primary health care access for First Peoples in the northwest of Melbourne. In 2018 the organisation expanded to set up a clinic in Thomastown – an area with unmet primary health care needs. To reflect this development, the organisation changed its name to First Peoples’ Health and Wellbeing. In 2019, we expanded again, opening the first Aboriginal health service on the Mornington Peninsula in Frankston.
First Peoples’ Health and Wellbeing also provides Aged Care services to Elders and Older People through CHSP funding, social support and transport services.

The name was changed to Werin Medical Clinic in July 2008 auspiced by Biripi Aboriginal Medical Service. Werin Aboriginal Corporation became incorporated January 2012. After 10 years of successful operation, on the 1st of March 2016, Werin Aboriginal Corporation became an independent medical service. Before the Purple House was established Pintupi people from the Western Desert of Central Australia were forced to leave their country and families to seek treatment for end-stage renal failure in Alice Springs or Darwin. Far from home, they suffered great loneliness and hardship, and weren’t around to pass on cultural knowledge in their communities. So they decided to do something about it. Purple House offers:

Wyanaga Aboriginal Aged Care Program

Wyanga is a not for profit Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisation providing individually tailored and culturally appropriate aged care services to their Elders within their homes. Elders residing in the South East Sydney areas of New South Wales.
Wyanga provides a range of services to Aboriginal clients and their carers in the home and community. Home Care Packages (HCP) and Commonwealth Home Support Program services are tailored to meet the needs of the individual. Support groups are also offered. A person’s needs and eligibility are aligned with available resources to determine which services are appropriate.

Yaandina Community Services Ltd (Yaandina) is a multi-functional, multi-funded charity providing localised wrap-around, client-centred services from birth to ageing for people living in the Pilbara, Western Australia.
Through the delivery of life education, recreation, therapeutic interventions, practical support, care and well-being programs, Yaandina provides services to children, youth, families and the elderly that are aimed at improving quality of life in the communities it services.
In 2016, Yaandina became a company limited by guarantee in recognition that it had evolved and grown to become the largest local not-for-profit community services provider in the Pilbara. The organisation now employs more than 120 staff in a range of specialist roles.
