St Pius X Mission was founded in 1965 by the Roman Catholic Church and the Daughters of Charity. In 1987, the centre’s name was changed to Pius X Aboriginal Corporation when official control was handed to the Aboriginal Management Committee by the Diocese of Armidale. Since then, services and facilities have been expanded and improved to meet the needs of the Aboriginal Community. This includes the opening of the Dental Unit on the 6th February 1989.
Pius X Aboriginal Corporation strives to be a welcoming, community focused organisation delivering culturally appropriate services and programs aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of the Aboriginal Community.
