Jody is a Mununjahli Yugambeh person with traditional ties to the country between the Logan and Tweed Rivers.

Jody currently works at the University of Melbourne as a Senior Research Fellow.[F(6]  Prior to this, Jody was the Chief Executive Officer of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service Brisbane. She established ATSICHS Brisbane as a Nationally Registered Early Childhood Education provider, a Nationally Registered Housing Provider, and a Registered National Disability Insurance Scheme Provider.

Jody has worked extensively in Aboriginal health and human service delivery and is a strong advocate for improving service accessibility for Aboriginal communities. Jody has been on various Boards including non-government organisations and Hearing Australia – a corporate government entity.
